Baltexpo 2013

On 3-5 September 2013 representatives of Investors and Business Assistance Department took part in the 17th BALTEXPO International Maritime Trade Fair and Conference, during which domestic and foreign maritime representatives presented their products, technologies, services, solutions, achievements, potential and development plans. In order to fully demonstrate the potential of Szczecin’s maritime industry companies the employees of the Department were accompanied by representatives of the West Pomeranian Maritime Cluster and Maritime Cluster of West Pomerania.

Among the exhibitors, visitors, conference panellists and the audience were many persons who are of great importance to the development of maritime economy in a broad sense. They represented government administration, local governments, shipyards, ports, clusters, ship-owners, research and development institutes, universities and media.

The event was dignified by: Sławomir Nowak – Minister of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy, Ilona Antoniszyn-Klik – Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Economy, Ida Skarda – Director General, Maritime Department, Ministry of Trade & Industry, Government of the Kingdom of Norway, Sławomir Majman – President of the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency, Karsten Klepsvik – Ambassador of Norway to Poland, Lehlohonolo Shadrack Ted Pekane – Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to Poland, Stefan Czmur – Ambassador of Republic of Poland to Norway and Andrzej Wojtkiewicz – Chairmain of the Employers Union “FORUM OKRĘTOWE”.

This year’s BALTEXPO programme included a novelty – two-day Polish Norwegian Maritime Forum (3-4 September, 2013) with the participation of the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Norwegian maritime industry organizations.
Szczecin’s exhibition stand attracted a lot of interest of entrepreneurs who wanted to establish cooperation with companies from Szczecin. Our presence at BALTEXPO resulted in many new and prospective contacts with representatives of the Polish maritime economy and abroad.
