The 6th European Economic Forum – Łódzkie 2013
On 13-14 November 2013, the officials of the Investor’s Assistance and Business Department took part in the 6th European Economic Forum in Łódź.
The event was organised by the Marshal’s Office of the Łódź Region and held under the honorary patronage of the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency. This year’s Forum was themed around modern business processes and their impact on the investment appeal of the Polish regions.
Organised each year by the Local Government of the Łódź Region, the European Economic Forum is a regular event aimed at boosting cooperation between business operators, sharing experience in terms of the actual economic situation and trends, establishing long-standing and effective cooperation of businesses, and also empowering entrepreneurship. The Forum is addressed to the economic community from Poland and across the world, and also to up-and-coming entrepreneurs who are looking for ways to push their businesses forward.
One of the central themes addressed during this year’s edition was the rapid growth of the BPO industry and the benefits it brings to the regions. In addition, the Forum included a host of discussions dedicated to specific sectors, such as IT, advanced building materials, and also the textile industry and the fashion. Also discussed were the industries of innovative agriculture, food processing, medicine, pharmacy and energy (including renewable energy). The Forum’s participants also addressed the subjects of how Polish businesses cope with the economic slowdown, of creating added value in business and of the Polish call-centre market.
