Mini Transat: Radek Kowalczyk finishes fifteenth in stage one

David Beaudart, sailing the yacht Flexirub 865, has won stage one of Mini Transat in the Proto category on the Douarnenez-Lanzarote route. He sailed 1250 sea miles on board of the 6.5-metre-long yacht in 6 days 19 hours and 4 minutes. He finished the race with a 9-hour advantage over runner-up Axel Trehin (Aleph Racing 716). The Proto category featured 26 yachts. During the stage, 5 sailors withdrew from the competition. Szczecin is brimming with flowers

Anna Drożdż won in the 'Gardens' category, Maksymilian Jędrzejczyk took the second prize, while the third prize was given to Joanna and Ryszard Kuzon. The laureates were awarded with commemorative cups, albums and gardening tools. The 'Balcony' category was won by Anna and Jerzy Pruski and the runner-up was Beata Użarowska.

The first tag-rugby pitch in Poland

The families of the students of the “Nawigator” all-boys elementary school are celebrating a new sporting venue. The pitch has lines designed specifically for tag rugby – a non-contact variation of rugby union. It will also serve as a football pitch and a basketball and volleyball court. This is an open-access venue but to use it, you need to contact the school.
